Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert said sorry on Friday night. It was five days after she and a man got asked to leave the Buell Theatre during a show.
Boebert’s campaign team released a statement from her. She said it was her fault for not being more graceful during her tough divorce from her husband, Jayson Boebert. They filed for divorce in April.
Boebert also said she couldn’t remember vaping inside the theater on Sunday night.
She said, “I’m truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community. While I didn’t mean to be hurtful, I understand that my actions did cause harm, and I regret that.”
Going through a public and hard divorce has been tough for her and her family. She tried to handle it well, but she messed up on Sunday. She knows it’s not okay, and she’s apologizing.
She also said she didn’t remember vaping that evening when she talked to her campaign team. She knows it looks bad, but she didn’t mean to mislead anyone. She wants to earn people’s trust back, even if it takes time.

On that night, Boebert and a friend went to see “Beetlejuice” at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Boebert later admitted she laughed and sang too loudly and posted about it on social media.
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts responded by saying they want to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at their shows. They said their staff can remove people who don’t follow their rules. They didn’t disclose the names of the patrons who were asked to leave for privacy reasons.
