College Football Games Schedule for Saturday

On a day when the weather in Florida couldn’t make up its mind, the 10th-ranked Alabama football team faced off against the USF, a smaller opponent. The final score was 17-3 in favor of Alabama, but it wasn’t the most exciting game. There were rain delays, changes in the quarterback position, and some unexpected moments.

Alabama had a new starting quarterback, Tyler Buchner, who used to play for Notre Dame. He replaced Jalen Milroe, who had started the first two games of the season. Buchner didn’t have a great day, completing only five of his 14 passes for 34 yards. He was taken out of the game just before halftime, and redshirt freshman Ty Simpson took over.

Alabama’s defense did a good job stopping USF’s offense. They only allowed a field goal, and that happened after a mistake in a punt return.

Simpson, the young quarterback, had a tough time. He was tackled by the USF defense five times, but he also made some good plays. In the third quarter, he threw a long pass to tight end CJ Dippre, which helped Alabama score their first touchdown. Simpson sealed the game with a quarterback sneak for Alabama’s second touchdown in the fourth quarter.
